Tone Up with Heat Shock Proteins this Summer

Did you know that you can improve the quality of your workouts by increasing the heat shock proteins through hot exercise?

Summer is here and we are all looking to tone up fast for the weekend trips to the beach!  One of the most efficient ways to get your body toned quick is through infrared training.  One of the reasons for this is due to the elevated heat shock protein (HSP) production during exposure to a heated infrared sauna and during exercise.

HSP’s created from heat exposure can help retain lean muscle by:

1-knocking back free radicals to allow for a reduction of catabolism or the wasting of lean muscle tissue.  Free radicals damage the structure of DNA that can lead to cancer.

2-repairing damaged protein cells to allow for healthy cells to increase muscle and strength while fostering workout recovery.

3-helping to preserve more of the aminos that are necessary for protein synthesis.

Studies have shown that visits to the sauna to create repetitive hyperthermia in short time sessions, 15 or 30 minutes, can result in muscle growth.  More lean muscle is what it takes to achieve improved muscle tone.
