The Silent Functional Trainer

Functional training continues to gain in popularity throughout the fitness world today. So, what is functional training anyway?

“Functional fitness exercises train your muscles to work together and prepare them for daily tasks by simulating common movements you might do at home, at work or in sports. While using various muscles in the upper and lower body at the same time, functional fitness exercises also emphasize core stability.”  http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/fitness/in-depth/functional-fitness/art-20047680

In contrast to the rows of limited movement weight training machines that occupy so much room in the average gym, there is no limit to the types of functional exercise movements that can be created and practiced with good form.  All you need is body weight, gravity, a small area of space, and a few simple fitness tools.

In each HOTWORX 24 hour infrared fitness studio there is an area called the FX Zone.  FX stands for functional exercise.  The FX Zone is a functional training area that provides for supplemental resistance exercise with bands, Myokore suspension training straps, dip bars, chin bars, dumbbells, kettle bells, ropes, medicine balls, stability balls and the like.

In the FX Zone a 24 hour “silent trainer” coaches clients through two types of functional workouts, a band workout and a suspension workout.  There is no need for a trainer screaming at you in the FX Zone.  The workouts are set to 60 second interval countdowns for each exercise.  A new workout begins every 25 minutes and clients can jump in when they are ready and stay for as long as they desire to workout.  Or, if they choose, clients can simply freestyle any type of functional training they want in the FX Zone.

We are happy to announce that we have over 30 new franchise HOTWORX studios now under development in 5 states.  Soon you will be able to experience the silent FX trainer in person in your own town.  The silent trainer keeps your workout form on track and the timer keeps you moving.  Many clients combine functional exercise with the HOTWORX infrared workouts for the best of functional resistance and isometric training back-to-back.
