HOTWORX welcomes new franchisees, Sara and Justin Bell, who were awarded a franchise license in Boston, Massachusetts!
What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
We'd like to supplement our full-time income, with the long term goal of more financial freedom, time flexibility, and early retirement from our corporate careers.
What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
We've always dreamed of starting our own business, but the idea of starting something from scratch was very overwhelming. The franchise model appealed to us, as it provides a duplicatable system with several business tools, resources, and systems to use and follow. We also liked the idea of having a network of like-minded people to learn from, bounce ideas off of, and celebrate successes with. After following another HOTWORX franchisee's journey via social media, we decided to research and pursue the opportunity. Thanks for the inspiration Ashley!
What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?
We did our first HOTWORX sessions at the Bedford, NH location during the month of December, and I remember how amazing it felt to step out of the freezing cold and into the sauna. Hot Iso was challenging and the heat was surprisingly comfortable. I never felt stuffy or uncomfortable in the sauna, but the sweat was unreal. Hot Blast was a great total body workout, in a fraction of the time compared to a typical cardio session. We both left feeling refreshed and energized, with the effects lasting long after the workout was complete.
How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
The HOTWORX team was very prompt to respond to our initial inquiry, and Nancy was great to work with. She was knowledgeable and transparent throughout the entire process. She worked with us at our own pace and provided the right level of information at each step. We never felt rushed or pressured.
How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
Orientation Day exceeded our expectations. Nancy and the HOTWORX team were so welcoming and hospitable. We had the fortune of being there to celebrate two significant HOTWORX milestones - their 3 year anniversary and opening of their 100th location. The evening before our Orientation Day we joined the team to celebrate their 3 year anniversary, and immediately felt like part of the family. We greatly enjoyed meeting the executive team and building relationships with other new franchisees. The material presented at Orientation was very informative. It helped ease our nerves and provided clear direction on next steps. The celebration dinner and Mardi Gras parade were a great end to the day!
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
Have a clear understanding of your motivations and what you're looking to get out of the opportunity. Educate yourself on the fitness technology, requirements, and business model by asking lots of questions and reaching out to other franchisees.
What are the top 3 reasons you chose to franchise with HOTWORX?
1. Differentiated fitness technology that leverages the benefits of heat, infrared energy and fast, convenient workouts that are virtually instructed.
2. We wanted to bring a new and affordable fitness option to our community, and liked that HOTWORX can be used as a primary form of exercise, or as a complement to other types of exercise (e.g. crossfit, bootcamps, Orange Theory, etc.)
3. The innovative and continuous improvement company culture, inspiring vision, and mission to help people look and feel their best without spending hours in the gym.
What excites you the most in offering HOTWORX to your community?
There is nothing like it in our area. We are excited to offer a new, affordable, and convenient fitness option that allows our community to get more workout in less time, while reaping the many health benefits of infrared. The studio design and small session size help create a sense of community and intimacy, where people of all fitness levels can feel comfortable, work at their own pace, and maximize their results.
What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
Exceed 600 members and make HOTWORX a household name in our community.
How will HOTWORX help you achieve your personal and professional goals?
We are excited to learn, grow and develop as small business owners and entrepreneurs, and believe this opportunity will give us more financial freedom, flexibility, and options for our future. We hope that our journey will inspire others to take action and follow their dreams.
