What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
I don’t have any fitness experience and didn’t even imagine owning anything fitness related. The opportunity came up and I kept an open mind about it. I went through the process and liked the concept of this particular business. I wanted something different than my current business and I didn’t know what until HOTWORX came into my life. I didn’t look for HOTWORX, it looked for me.
What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
I already own an independent business as an electrical contractor. I created our company from scratch, having nothing and no one to assist me with operations and how a business even functions. It was extremely difficult and challenging, and many lessons were learned along the way. I bought into a franchise to save myself years of brainstorming and learning what works and doesn’t work. I bought into the franchise for the support and knowledge and to ultimately be successful at HOTWORX.
What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?
I didn’t go to a HOTWORX session until the week of Orientation Day. I love saunas and I already knew that I loved the concept of working out in one so it was no surprise to have been pleased in one.
How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
The Discovery Process went well. I loved that everything wasn’t done in one day and that it was broken down into different sections. This also allowed me to have time to really think about if this was something I wanted to do and continue to move forward. I didn’t feel the pressure of having to decide in one day and took my time with the process. If I at any time felt pressured and overwhelmed, I wouldn’t have made it to the end of the Discovery Process.
How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
Orientation Day was a bit too early for me, only because I am in a different time zone. However, it was very informative and no time was wasted.
What advice would you give to other candidates considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
I wouldn’t personally advise other candidates yet, only because I am still in the early stages of this business, and there is so much more I need to go through to be successfully running the business before I can give my honest advice to other candidates. I can only speak about the Discovery Process so far and I can say it was great.
What are the top 3 reasons you chose to franchise with HOTWORX?
1. The concept of the business and the model is what ultimately sold me.
2. The low employees and maintenance is the second reason. I already own a very busy company that requires most of my time. Had this business been one that did require a large amount of hours out of me, I wouldn’t have taken this opportunity.
3. It is already a build concept and all I have to do is follow the steps. I don’t have to brainstorm or think about how I am going to make this work. The coach that is given to each person is brilliant. Showing and expressing the support is where it is at. If I felt I was going into this alone with no support, I wouldn’t have signed up.
What excites you the most in offering HOTWORX to your community?
There is a need in my community for a fitness place like this one. There are plenty of gyms and bootcamps, but I feel this one is very specific and targeted for middle-aged women who are moms and don’t have the time to go to the gym for two to three hours. I am this person, so time is everything. This will give all the moms in the community a quick exercise that otherwise wouldn’t have the time to get it done. If this also happened to ultimately change someone’s life, that would be even more rewarding.
What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
My goal is to have a site already developed and opened and to get to 500 members within a couple of months after opening.
How will HOTWORX help you achieve your personal and professional goals?
There are many things I believe HOTWORX will help me achieve. I believe I will learn how to operate a business properly, which will help me as a professional and maybe learn a few things I can change and adapt into my current company. I also need to reach some healthy goals in my personal life and this will be a huge motivation for me. I feel that I need to lead by example and I shouldn’t be living an unhealthy life, yet promote HOTWORX and what it stands for.
