HOTWORX congratulates franchisee, Tammy Perrone, who was awarded 1 franchise license in the Nashville market and recently opened her Goodlettsville, TN studio!
What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
I've been thinking about buying into a franchise for some time now, but I hadn't found a good fit until I came across HOTWORX. It's funny to people that know me because I've never been one to exercise but, now that I'm in my 60s, I decided I better do something! My daughter found HOTWORX in Charlotte, where we lived, and we joined about six months before the pandemic shut everything down. In my past lives, I was in the Air Force for a little over 20 years; no, I didn't fly any planes, but I was friends with a lot of pilots. I was a training manager for half my career and in personnel for the last seven or eight years. After I retired, I moved back to Charlotte, NC and worked for 19 years in supply chain operations at a group purchasing organization for healthcare (Premier, Inc). Now I'm just retired on disability, both with the VA and Social Security, and looking forward to owning a HOTWORX franchise.
What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
I like the structure of an already established company with rules and procedures. I think starting a business from scratch without a "safety net" would be too scary for me.
What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?
I thought it was going to be just another workout but I was pleasantly surprised by the heat, and now I know the infrared really helped my arthritis and fibromyalgia and I was better able to do the Hot Pilates positions.
How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
Kayla was wonderful!! I found it refreshingly straightforward and easy to comprehend. I really had relatively few questions as everything was covered in sufficient detail in the presentations and the handouts we received.
How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
I thought it was going to be a long and boring day, but the day flew by and I was anything but bored! The Executive Team were all very engaged and upbeat, they seemed very approachable, and really came across as wanting to help us succeed. I found that each topic covered was on point and interesting and we got just enough information to whet our appetite for more, but not to overload us. I was extremely pumped at the end of the day.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
I've already spoken with several folks about them pursuing a HOTWORX franchise! My advice has been to go for it; don't let preconceived ideas about buying into a franchise keep you from taking that first step. It's not as hard as you think it's going to be.
What are the top 3 reasons you chose to franchise with HOTWORX?
1. I believe working out in THIS sauna is good for a person, so I believe in HOTWORX.
2. I knew I could afford to get into this franchise with the money I've saved in my IRA.
3. After finding HOTWORX, and doing the math, I'm not getting any younger, I knew if I didn't buy into HOTWORX now, I probably wouldn't ever.
What excites you the most in offering HOTWORX to your community?
I'm excited for everyone to try HOTWORX, especially people my age suffering from arthritis and/or fibromyalgia. I think it will be a real game-changer for people with these health problems.
What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
I want to be one of the top performers in the company, sign up 1,000 members in the first year, and become a contributing member of the community.
How will HOTWORX help you achieve your personal and professional goals?
Hopefully it won't be long until we're turning a profit and I can start putting money back into my IRA. As far as professional goals, I just want to be successful as a studio. I'm too old to have lofty professional goals, but just to be successful, that's all I'm aiming to do.
