HOTWORX welcomes new franchisees, Nathan and Katryna Marks, who were awarded 2 franchise licenses in the Orlando-Daytona Beach-Melbourne market and just recently opened their Winter Garden, FL (West Colonial) studio!
What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
Nathan is a senior project manager for an international organization with a division that specializes in building theme park rides. He graduated from Full Sail with a degree in Entertainment Business and has since desired to own a business where he can utilize his experience and longstanding passion for business development.
Katryna is currently a stay-at-home parent, but prior to having our daughter, she worked for our community hospital foundation as a Manager of Corporate Partnerships and Event Sponsorships. She partnered with organizations to help them match their philanthropic goals with our hospital’s financial needs.
Considering our shared experience of project management, business development, staffing, and marketing, combined with our personal passion for health and wellness, we are beyond thrilled to embark on this journey with HOTWORX.
What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
As new business owners, we greatly appreciate the support of the HOTWORX franchise to help us launch and successfully manage our own studios. From finance, real-estate, ongoing training, and marketing support, we are excited to partner with an established Franchisor that continually seeks to align us with the best partnerships, technology, and resources to help us be successful.
What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?
Katryna joined our local HOTWORX studio during the height of Covid last summer. From the infrared energy, heat, the virtual instructors, and the 24/7 access, HOTWORX quickly became her favorite way to break a sweat! Nathan was skeptical of the heat for a long time, but once he tried his first session and experienced the benefits, he was hooked!
How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
We thoroughly enjoyed the Discovery Process with Patty. She made sure we were well-equipped for each phone call, answered all our questions, and made the process fun! Each module was packed with helpful information yet perfectly spread out for us to absorb, process, and clarify for our understanding.
How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
Orientation Day was exciting for us because we got to “see” and meet someone from every department. We especially appreciated and valued our time with our CEO, Steve Smith. It was a gift to hear him personally share his vision behind the creation of HOTWORX, the benefits of 3D Training, and his overall passion for this company.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
Don’t wait! You will be blown away by the level of support you will receive every step of your journey. As new business owners, we have been so thankful for every email, call, and checklist to ensure that we have everything we need to be successful in our markets.
What are the top 3 reasons you chose to franchise with HOTWORX?
1. The overall concepts of 3D Training, 24/7 studio access, and Virtual Instructors. Nothing compares to the powerhouse trio that is infrared energy, heat, and exercise. But then HOTWORX takes it to another level with the convenience of studio access and shorter workouts.

What excites you the most in offering HOTWORX to your community?
We are excited to offer our community an alternative method of healing. Of course, weight loss/management and calorie burn are important for all of us, but we want others to experience the healing properties of infrared technology.
What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
We hope for our studios to reach and exceed membership goals in our first year of opening. We hope to hire and train a staff that is equally passionate about HOTWORX as we are. We hope to educate the community on the benefits of 3D Training so that they see and experience physical and mental benefits beyond calorie burn, and in turn share with their friends and family. We hope to run studios where our members are treated and cared for like family.
