HOTWORX congratulates franchisees, Kimberly and William Hunter, who were awarded a franchise license in the Atlanta market and recently opened their Roswell, GA (Sweet Apple) studio!
What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
I am a Breast Cancer survivor of 15 years this coming December. During my healing, I became fascinated with naturopathic and alternative medicine. Part of my therapy was in an infrared sauna — I received one month unlimited access and then was addicted after that. I love the sweating, the euphoric feeling after I left, and the relaxation. I even used to do some of my yoga moves in the sauna and thought to myself, "How awesome would it be to exercise in here?!?" My sessions were usually $30 for an hour session, and after the free month, I was only able to afford it a couple of times a month and the spa where I went was a pretty far drive.
I shopped around for a while and finally stumbled upon a HOTWORX that was about 5 miles from me. I was thrilled. I am an entrepreneurial soul, so I started thinking about what it would be like to own my own and help people on their journey to achieve optimal health. The process was over a year long when my husband, Billy, and I decided we would pull the trigger and create our own opportunity and studio. I can't wait to give back to the cancer community especially, but I want to help anyone who is trying to better him/herself.
In my current profession, I am a Wardrobe Stylist with a women's clothing brand called cabi. I take care of all Fashion Emergencies, and I prevent new ones from happening.
What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
I love the idea of the support, community and camaraderie of being in business for myself but not by myself.
What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?
I loved my first session. I had already been doing infrared therapy. When I was in the saunas before HOTWORX, I always wished I could exercise and move in them to add intensity. I was thrilled to find a place nearby, that was affordable and that had so many exercise options.
How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
The Discovery Process was very organized and helpful. I always wanted to jump ahead but Mandy kept reminding me to trust the process and everything would be covered! Once I did that, it was more relaxing for me. It made me feel at ease because all of the important points were covered.
How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
I was definitely nervous! It was a fun and very exciting day. It was great to see the behind the scenes and put some names with faces. It was good to hear that the process would work if we followed the checklist. I like that things are organized and easy to follow.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
I would say to follow your instincts. I dropped in and out of the Discovery Process, but the idea of running my own studio and helping people kept creeping back in! I knew it was the right direction for me.

What excites you the most in offering HOTWORX to your community?
I am excited to offer a 3-dimensional workout - heat/infrared energy/exercise - more workout/less time.
What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
I am excited to build something from nothing. I want to run a studio that people want to gather in and attain health and fitness goals. I want the experience to be a relaxing oasis where my clients can let go physically and mentally.

I already believe that HOTWORX will be a fantastic partner because of the passionate staff and team. I am so excited to get started!! It is very comforting knowing I have such a good group of people ensuring my success.
