What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
Currently, I am a director for a disability services organization and Jerry is a corporate controller/financial director. We both work outside of our regular employ. Jerry has a small accounting firm that he operates out of our home, where he works with several small businesses. I teach dance and work with a competition team for a local dance studio. And, for the most important profession of all, we are parents to three children.
What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
We are currently independent business owners, however, have discussed the potential of being a franchise owner. Really, it was the HOTWORX experience and concept that led us to initially explore the possibility of franchising.
What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?
I happened on a HOTWORX studio, purely by luck. I was actually out looking for a “Crossfit” gym to join on that end of town. I didn’t particularly like the one I was visiting. As I was driving around, I noticed two women walking out of the HOTWORX studio, carrying their rolled up mats. By the name of the business and the appearance of the women, I assumed it was a Yoga studio. I love yoga, and even more, hot yoga! I went in to learn more about the sessions offered, and wow, was I pleasantly surprised! I did my first session right then and there, and joined that day! I was HOOKED! The diversity and variety of the sessions, the concept, the burn, the results and most importantly, how I felt when I was finished, all motivated me to become a member.
How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
We initially spoke with Cynthia, who helped us immensely in making a decision. We were able to ask questions, express concerns, and really become comfortable with this new adventure that we were embarking on.
How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
Of course when it comes to orientation, in person would have been better. However, virtually was still an interesting day. There was so much information offered, and at times it seemed a little overwhelming. But, the Executive Team did a great job at breaking things down for us. As well as reassuring us that we will hear all of the information again, so not to worry if we didn’t absorb it all that day! The organization and streamlined guidance that this company offers its new owners is remarkable!
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
Definitely be passionate about being an owner. It is a major commitment, and requires diligence and attention. But, we are so looking forward to when we can open our first studio doors!
What are the top 3 reasons you chose to franchise with HOTWORX?
1. First and foremost, the concept of HOTWORX. I personally love my time at HOTWORX. I talk about the benefits to anyone that will listen. My daughter and I attend sessions together, multiple times each week. It was a concept and experience that was easy for me to adopt.
2. Second, being self employed, fully self employed, is our ultimate goal.
3. Third, when we started our initial inquiries with HOTWORX, and as the conversations went on, we discovered how absolutely supportive the Executive Team is with assisting new and potential owners to get the information they need and get answers to their questions. We are truly impressed with the forum, the protocol and the process once ownership is established. There is a checklist for everything! I LOVE CHECKLISTS!
What excites you the most in offering HOTWORX to your community?
I am excited to have more accessibility to HOTWORX for our community! Having multiple locations allows for more people to learn and get to love their HOTWORX workout!
What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
Of course our first year goals involve meeting and exceeding typical and standard new membership goals.
How will HOTWORX help you achieve your personal and professional goals?
Personally and professionally, both my husband and I want to be fully independently employed. Personally, we want to be owners of a company that we believe in and are passionate about growing! Professionally, we want to meet fiscal goals that allow us to open multiple locations over the next few years.
