HOTWORX welcomes new franchisees, Len & Rhonda Wood, with their purchase of 2 franchise licenses in Amarillo, TX, and 1 license in Abilene-Sweetwater DMA, TX!
What lead you to explore franchise opportunities?
We had been looking at other franchise opportunities for the past 2 years. Len had been through the Discovery Process with another company so he was committed to finding the right opportunity. During this process, we really defined what key factors were important in selecting the right company. We have been married for 7 years and for 7 years, Len suggested we find a yoga class. Fate provided the opportunity to see firsthand what HOTWORX was all about during the construction phase of the Lubbock location, so we joined the studio.
Can you describe your first HOTWORX session?
Rhonda: My first HOTWORX experience was amazing. I knew it would be difficult because I have never practiced yoga and my only exercise had consisted of walking and some running. As tough as it was I was hooked after the very first time. I loved how the instructor kept saying "go at your own best pace." The idea of doing what I could and building off of that gave me the encouragement I needed and being a competitive person by nature it pushes me to work a little harder each time I’m in the sauna so I can complete the workout.
Len: My first experience was a little different than Rhonda's. I have osteoarthritis from playing sports most of my life so finding a fitness program that fit was a challenge. Every time I started a new program I would injure myself and be out for an extended period of time and ultimately quit. My first session I was only capable of completing about 20% of the workout and I told Rhonda, "I'm at least a year away from doing this." The encouragement to "go at my own best pace" and realizing there is a process to wellness kept me going. After a few sessions, I noticed my arthritis pain diminished, and I had no muscle soreness. The result is I have been 3 times a week since February, I have lost 35 lbs and I am now completing 75% of the program.
How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
Our experience going through the Discovery Process was awesome. Rhonda and I were fortunate to be members of the studio in Lubbock so we had conversations with the owners, Lainie and Jason Martinez. Our first relationship at corporate was Bebe DeLeon, who exudes the energy and passion HOTWORX resonates with customers. Bebe worked extremely hard during the whole process and trust me I did not make it easy. Bebe involved her team when I had doubts or questions she felt needed further elaboration. Bebe was professional, organized, and her communication skills lead to Rhonda and I being awarded 3 studio licenses in Amarillo(2) and Abilene(1).
What was it like attending Discovery Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
Rhonda: To be honest, I think I would have preferred going through Discovery Day in person, but I was able to gain so much knowledge about the franchise. It gave me more confidence knowing how well orchestrated each step of the building process is.
Len: I too wish we could have attended in person as our Discovery Day was while the team was in Lake Tahoe. The impressive thing is that I had been talking to Bebe since February and had no idea that the concept had this many levels of support. When Bebe says you have to go through Discovery Day to get the full picture, believe her. Every detail from start to finish has been thought through and I would dare say someone with little business experience could succeed in this environment.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
Rhonda: I would say "go for it!" Like I said it is a very orchestrated process from finding a location all the way to opening day and beyond and I believe that is key to the success of the HOTWORX franchise.Len: Read answer 4 and ask yourself what am I waiting for?
What are the top 3 reasons you chose to franchise with HOTWORX?
1. Completeness of concept from start to finish2. Hot trend in the emerging wellness/fitness market3. Minimized financial risk
What goals do you have in bringing HOTWORX to your market?
Rhonda: My goal would be to share the passion I have for this concept. I want people to know they can achieve the same great results I have and that there are no excuses for not taking care of your health and fitness goals with HOTWORX. With 24 hour access 7 days a week and short 15-30 minute workouts not having time to take care of yourself is no longer an excuse! And the small class size (2-3 people) is nice for people who are uncomfortable or intimidated working out in large groups. I want people to know there are huge benefits in HOTWORX, whether you are a seasoned athlete, fitness fanatic, or a beginner.
Len: What Rhonda said!!
What are you most excited for in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
Rhonda: I am excited about working with the HOTWORX team and watching each step of the process unfold! I am also looking forward to the excitement I know the people of Amarillo and Abilene, TX will have about this amazing new fitness concept!
Len: I agree with Rhonda, watching the process unfold. I am so committed to this wellness platform in my own life I cannot wait to share my experience with others. I know Amarillo and Abilene will embrace the concept and I look forward to the life-long relationships that will result from this opportunity.
Congratulations, Len & Rhonda, and welcome to the HOTWORX family!
