HOTWORX welcomes new franchisees, Brian and Bridget Lancioni, on their recent takeover of the HOTWORX - Rancho Santa Margarita, CA studio!
What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. I retired from the Marine Corps after serving for 20 years. The Marine Corps provides great leadership training and opportunities to lead others. I believe the experiences I’ve had in the Marines will transition well in operating a business such as HOTWORX.
My wife is a Pediatric Registered Nurse. She loves to work out and is into health and wellness. She has always wanted to own her own business it was just a matter of finding the right one.
I attended a bootcamp for entrepreneurs at UCLA for military veterans while in retirement. After attending that program, I partnered with some friends from the local community to explore business opportunities. The exploration did not lead to anything significant, so I went back to school to obtain a master’s degree to become a Licensed Professional Counselor to eventually open a private clinic. While in school my wife and I were contemplating purchasing an infrared sauna for our home. However, before we bought the sauna, my wife came across HOTWORX RSM. We became members and loved the concept, so we researched franchise opportunities and haven’t looked back on our dreams of becoming a franchisee!
What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
My wife and I love the fact that a franchise like HOTWORX has a proven business model. The operations of the business are in place, so as a franchisee you can focus on building the business in an efficient way by focusing on sales and profitability.
What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?
It was HOT! Bridget and I loved how we got such a great workout in a short period of time. Our bodies warmed up fast and we were not very sore after the workout due to the heat and infrared. Post workout we felt energized and felt cleansed from sweating the toxins out of our bodies.
How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
Patricia was a true professional. She was extremely knowledgeable and if she did not have the answer to a question she would follow up and provide the answer. The information provided was very thorough and honest. I did not feel like anyone was trying to sell me something. Truthfully HOTWORX sells itself.
How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
The entire staff are knowledgeable, motivated, and very welcoming. I get the impression that HOTWORX is a well-oiled machine just like the Marine Corps. We are excited to be part of the team!
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
I was a career recruiter for a majority of my time in the Marine Corps. The best recruiters were the ones that had heart for the Marine Corps and believed in what they were selling. I would say the same for new candidates. If you have heart for the product and believe in it then you will be successful. The HOTWORX team will not let you fail if you have heart and are ready to work hard.

What excites you the most in offering HOTWORX to your community?
What excites us most in offering HOTWORX to our community is not only the benefits of exercise but the health aspect of infrared 3D training. I am excited to meet people that get the benefit of exercise and healing from any ailments they may be suffering from.
What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
We want to provide top notch customer service to our customers. We want to be the Chick-fil-A regarding customer service/cleanliness, of the fitness industry in our community. We also want to reach 700 members in our first year.
How will HOTWORX help you achieve your personal and professional goals?
HOTWORX will help us achieve our personal and professional goals by being a part of our journey in finding our purpose in life. We can serve our community by providing a health/wellness fitness studio that will benefit their well-being. Bridget and I can also work on opening additional studios to make a great living while setting us up for retirement later in life. Being an owner also has the benefit of passing it down to our children.
