What led you to explore franchise opportunities?
Pam – One of the doctors (Naturopath) on my cancer treatment team suggested that I seek out infrared sauna therapy to help with detoxification as I recovered from Stage IV metastatic breast cancer. After experiencing the benefits of HOTWORX, I instantly knew that these benefits should be available to anyone who was suffering from cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes or chronic pain as well as those who wanted to lose weight. I discussed the benefits with my siblings (brother- Walt and sister – Jill) and my sister suggested that we bring a HOTWORX studio into the Southeast Texas area, a region previously known as having one of the highest cancer occurring populations in the United States.

Can you describe your first HOTWORX experience?
Pam – I was initially intimidated by the HOTWORX concept of exercising in a sauna set at 120 -125 °F and was not sure I would be able to do it as I was out of shape and had not been very active during my cancer treatment and recovery. In fact, I was having trouble walking and getting around as cancer had spread to my bones. As I began my first session, I found the heat was not overbearing as it was a “dry heat” and I really liked the fact that the heat warmed up my muscles as I exercised. The isometric poses were not complex and were easy for a novice like me to grasp, but challenging to maintain. I felt a sense of euphoria and a burst of energy after completing my first session. I was not overly sore the next day from working out since the heat had conditioned my muscles. I was still experiencing the benefits of the infrared heat, the next morning as my normal aches and pains and stiffness were all but gone. I knew that HOTWORX would be a great way to recondition my body during my cancer recovery and would serve as an alternative option for pain relief. I was definitely hooked and glad I joined.

How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
Our HOTWORX consultant, Mandy Verges, made the Discovery Process easy and enjoyable. She was well informed and patient as we asked questions and quickly responded back with issues that had to be researched. All phases of the process were made easily understandable by discussing specific phases every two weeks and then reviewing all the combined phases together at the end of the process. We felt that Mandy was open, forthcoming and transparent as she explained how the franchisee process worked.

What was it like attending Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
Orientation Day at the corporate HOTWORX headquarters was power packed with information and detailed examples from each executive team member. We left the day, confident that the HOTWORX Executive Team was well experienced and more than capable of leading us to a successful launch of our first HOTWORX studio with many profitable years as franchisees under the HOTWORX brand.

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
The best piece of advice we could give future entrepreneurs considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX is to not hesitate and to get in early, before the prime market area that they are looking to establish their studio in, is taken by other entrepreneurs. The market is filling up fast as the public becomes educated in the benefits of infrared technology.

What are the top 3 reasons you chose to franchise with HOTWORX?
1. The HOTWORX studio concept is an innovative new idea that is extremely appealing to the public and today’s fitness member.
2. HOTWORX is a sound franchise business. The HOTWORX Executive Team, led by Steve Smith, has perfected the franchise concept, through much research and previous successful franchise launches. The team is ever evolving the HOTWORX concept to meet today’s fitness market.
3. The HOTWORX infrared studio is a concept we believe in. It offers a needed service to today’s consumers with various health benefits and shortened workout times that produce greater results over traditional workout regimens.

What goals do you have in bringing HOTWORX to your market?
By launching the first HOTWORX studio in the Beaumont, TX DMA, we plan to educate the Southeast Texas area about the many health benefits of working out in infrared heat along with HOTWORX’s accelerated calorie burn concept. We plan to bring our second HOTWORX studio on line shortly after the first is opened.

What are you most excited for in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
We are excited to bring this new fitness concept to the Beaumont, TX area and to share with the community the many benefits of infrared heat when combined with HOTWORX’s patented saunas. We also look forward to being small business owners, who are in control of our own destiny.
