HOTWORX congratulates franchisee, Gwynda Jones, who was awarded a franchise license in the Chicago market and recently opened her Chicago, IL (River North) studio!

What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
After 30 years of contributing to the success of a major corporation in managing projects, SAP system integrations, and corporate acquisitions, I wondered if my skills were transferable in successfully managing a business of my own. Upon my retirement, I was in search of a fitness program that would help me personally with my physical condition and stumbled across the HOTWORX franchise opportunity. Being passionate about health and wellness, I thought this could be it!

What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
Just the thought of the many challenges associated with an independent business such as the start-up efforts, expenses, and labor intensity; not to mention the time frame in expecting a return on my investments was daunting and overwhelming. Given those obstacles, franchising became very appealing especially when accompanied by a proven business model and an amazing support team.

What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?
In one word, “LOVED!” I was completely blown away! The concept alone was appealing but the experience was everything! I attended my first HOTWORX session intending to only explore the customer experience while scoping out the operation knowing if I loved HOTWORX as a customer, I would love to own it!

Needless to say, after finishing Hot Cycle and Hot Pilates sessions, I was in love. I left with 2 memberships, 2 sets of mats, and towels for my daughter and me while anxiously awaiting our next visit. Most notable was the ability to safely achieve health, wellness, and fitness goals during the pandemic. Amid a pandemic when churches, restaurants, and schools were closing; knowing I could leave my home, go to a semi-private studio to clear my head, exercise, detox, and heal my body was extremely appealing.

How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
It was very effective in methodology providing all the information needed at a very high level in the right content and in the right order for gaining a complete understanding of the business operating model and general requirements of a Franchisee.

How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
It was very impressive. Knowing that HOTWORX was relatively a young company (4 to 5 years young), I was a little skeptical. However, after learning that the corporate team had a very mature tenure (15-25 years) and were very professional with a set level of expertise and a wealth of professional experience in their respective business fields, I was very impressed.

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
I would advise them to seriously consider investing in the future of wellness; something bold, branded, patented, innovative, new, effective, successful, beneficial, and recognized by the medical field as a holistic health solution for many health conditions. I would invite them to join me in helping others live a healthier lifestyle.

What are the top 3 reasons you chose to franchise with HOTWORX?

What excites you the most in offering HOTWORX to your community?
I am most excited about the extended notable health benefits. It’s not just exercise; it’s the extension of quality living. I have always had a passion for health and wellness but due to my health challenges, I didn’t see how I could help others with their overall wellness while struggling myself. But once I experienced the health benefits of infrared energy as confirmed by my physicians, I knew I must share this with others.

What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
I am striving to acquire 1,000 members within my first year with plans of securing a second facility by 2023, followed by securing a strong presence with multiple locations in the Chicagoland area.

How will HOTWORX help you achieve your personal and professional goals?
It satisfies my spirit knowing that I am making a difference in the lives of others, saving lives, extending life, and improving the quality of life of others while also leaving a legacy for my daughter, Monica Nia Jones.
