What lead you to explore franchise opportunities?
Brian and I have always wanted to be our own bosses and to own a business that was financially successful but also helps support our local community. I have been a member of OrangeTheory Fitness for 3 years and have watched how successful that concept has been. We actually reached out to OTF to inquire about a license, but they were sold out. When I randomly stumbled upon HOTWORX on social media (it was mentioned by a friend on Facebook), I immediately knew it was something we wanted to explore.
Can you describe your first HOTWORX experience?
Our first HOTWORX session was in Metairie, LA. Brian and I jumped immediately into the Hot Cycle sauna for our first 15 minutes. I love spin classes and was eager to try it in a sauna. I loved how my muscles immediately relaxed and how quickly my heart rate increased. Following Hot Cycle, we moved into Hot Pilates. I actually loved the isometric pose workout MORE than the HIIT, which was a pleasant surprise! Now that we're back in Portland, with no HOTWORX locations yet established, I'm going through HOTWORX withdrawals! I'm anxiously awaiting the opening of our store because I'm craving more time in the sauna to warm my body, work my muscles, and burn some calories!!
How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
Bebe was a pleasure to work with. She provided a fantastic extra layer of guidance given that she was actively going through the journey of opening up her own store at the same time we were exploring the franchise opportunity.
What was it like attending Discovery Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
Discovery Day was very valuable. I felt like the information provided in each presentation was just exactly what Brian and I needed to get an even better understanding of how very "turn-key" this franchise opportunity is. I was impressed by the tenure of the HOTWORX executive team members. It feels great to be so well supported by folks who've been working in the corporate world of franchising for so long.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
HOTWORX is a turn-key health and fitness franchise with an amazing amount of corporate support and resources. It is a great option if you're looking for a company with a successful, established system. It would not be ideal for an entrepreneur who's looking for a customizable franchise, ie one that you can modify to fulfill your own beliefs of what you think will work in your market.
What are the top 3 reasons you chose to franchise with HOTWORX?
1. HOTWORX doesn't exist in the Pacific NW yet. So that was huge for us. We LOVE the fact that we're first to the Portland market. But really, the whole 3D concept is directly in line with what's important to folks in the NW- people here are crazy about exercise, exercising in heat (hot yoga), and the health benefits of infrared sauna therapy.2. It was very compelling to want to chose HOTWORX when we learned how financially successful the current, established franchise locations are, with profitability in as little as a few months after opening! And the monthly membership price point is a NO BRAINER! Who wouldn't want to supplement their exercise routine with something so affordable and with so many health benefits??3. The HOTWORX corporate team has a long history running the Planet Beach locations. I feel like we will be very well supported as we take the leap into owning our first franchises!

Kill it in Presale & make a lot of money!
What are you most excited for in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
I'm excited to learn about how much our members love the benefits of their workouts. But I'm also excited to get the first year under my belt so we can be even more efficient in opening location #2 and #3!
