HOTWORX congratulates franchisee, Trina Pecina, who was awarded a franchise license in the Dallas-Fort Worth market and recently opened her Arlington, TX (East Arlington) studio!
What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
My husband & I wanted to own a business. We were looking for a way to diversify our income stream that would also allow us to continue working in our previous careers. I was an RN for 20 years & had recently become a Nurse Practitioner. He was an insurance broker and head of office for the Fort Worth branch of Marsh McLennan Southwest Agency. It was important to us to find a business that could also help us to help others in bettering themselves.
What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
Since we also had work & volunteer obligations, we wanted something that was already successful, tested, and tried. We wanted a blueprint we could follow instead of starting from scratch & recreating the wheel.
What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?
My initial impression can be summed up in three words – I LOVED IT. I was excited about everything from the variety of available session times to the privacy of the workouts to the amazing dry heat of the infrared saunas. I could work out without any reservations in how horrible I looked doing all those poses. I could sweat out all the toxins built up in my body. Within minutes I could feel my stiff joints and tight muscles warming up. I was hooked. I literally went home that same day & told my husband “I found our franchise opportunity.”
How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
Nancy Price was great. She patiently answered all of our questions. Her candor & friendliness helped convince us of the quality of people involved with HOTWORX. It made us want to be a part of the team.
How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
Orientation Day was done virtually. Even so, it was a fun day. I felt the orientation was very thorough & insightful. In particular, I enjoyed meeting the people from the different departments. It was good to put a face with a name! It made it seem like we were joining a big close family.
What advice would you give to other candidates considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
Take your time. Ask lots of questions. Be upfront about what you have going on in your life so they can help you.

What excites you the most in offering HOTWORX to your community?
My opportunity to be an independent woman business owner that provides an affordable, truly life changing place to move your body, rejuvenate your spirit, and be part of a like-minded community.
What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
I became a franchisee in April 2022. For this first year, I have had to refine my goals. This first year I will sign a lease, build out the space and open a HOTWORX studio. My second year goal is to build membership and attain profitability. See next question for more insight.
How will HOTWORX help you achieve your personal and professional goals?
My personal and professional goals have changed dramatically since the time we signed our franchise agreement in April 2022. We had to put a pause on franchise development because of my husband’s declining health and the aggressiveness of his cancer. I cannot type the next words without shedding a tear and my heart breaking all over again. My husband passed away June 30th. This completely upended all my previous professional and personal goals. Originally, we wanted to use this opportunity as a way to diversify our income. I have had to revise and rethink that. I was already sold on the franchise model and if it would work. I just needed to decide if it was what I wanted to do. After much prayer, I have decided to pursue HOTWORX as my main source of income and dive all in. I kept coming back to how excited I was about HOTWORX in the beginning, how it felt like I was being called to explore this new prospect, and most importantly how I always left a workout feeling rejuvenated even though at the time my world was crashing around me in ways I had no control over. Another thing that helped convince me to forge ahead with HOTWORX is the incredible kindness and care I have experienced with my coach, Maurizia Taylor, and Chad Littleton from Morrow Hill. They have figuratively held my hand these past few months as I work it all out. It is a priceless commodity when a company employs and associates itself with such amazing people. I want to be a part of that franchise company that has people like this in it! Personally, I need to be able to provide for myself. I need to know I can do it. I was married for almost 30 years and my entire adult life I have been part of a two-income household. This is no longer true. I consider myself fortunate and blessed that this opportunity was already in the works because I do know this - I will be a financially successful HOTWORX studio owner. Here’s to earning my burn! I am actually excited for the first time in a very long time with what the future has in store for me.
