Muscle Growth and Infrared

Posted November 4, 2016

Since I began supplementing my weight training routine with weekly sessions in the HOTWORX, I have noticed that I am able to maintain a higher level of lean muscle with no change in my diet. The infrared as the “X” factor is so obvious. Infrared sauna usage benefits muscle building!

Infrared heat exposure triggers the release of Human Growth Hormone (HGH). This form of hyperthermic conditioning is super effective for muscle development.

The release of proteins is another means by which infrared sauna exposure aids in muscle growth.

Take a look at this research: “As mentioned…one of the many physiological adaptations that occur when sitting in a sauna is the release of heat shock proteins. In an experiment conducted in rats, heat treatment (41°C) not only caused a release of heat shock proteins but remarkably the rats were able to regrow more muscle than the control group not given heat treatment. On average, there was a 30% improvement in muscle growth compared to the control group.” http://www.purepharma.com/us_en/blog/can-using-a-sauna-improve-athletic-performance/

Another way to accelerate lean muscle growth is through improved workout recovery from infrared sauna exposure. It’s no secret that infrared heat is good for healing over-worked muscles.

Quick recap…

Release of HGH, release of proteins and accelerated muscle recovery are three great reasons to add HOTWORX sessions to any fitness regime.

Those muscle building benefits are also three great reasons to provide hot exercise options for your fitness clients!
