Making the Fitness Dream Real in 2019

It’s college football bowl season and time for the national championship, and it’s playoff time for the NFL.  Of course, the talk of who might win the Super Bowl is in the air as well.  The beginning of each new year is filled with championship spirit and discussions of what it takes to win.

What it takes to be a winner in football is very similar to what it takes to win in business and in personal fitness programs. 

Words like dream, discipline, and dedication come to mind.

For example, what began with a dream to provide the very best workouts for people who have limited time to train has now become the fastest growing franchise in the fitness business.  Of course, I am talking about HOTWORX, the first ever 24 hour infrared fitness studio. 

The uniqueness of the product is important for sure, but for any “dream” or vision, if it will have a fighting chance for success, it has to be supported by an absolute “dedication” to a set of goals and “discipline” to see it all the way through!

With HOTWORX, we set out from day one to open 500 locations within the first 5 years of operations.  I am happy to announce for this new year that we are on track to achieve that goal.  We opened the very first location for HOTWORX on February 13, 2017.  By the end of our second year on February 13 we will have opened 55 locations based on projects that are currently in construction.  Additionally, there are over 160 locations already sold and in various stages of development.

The HOTWORX numbers of units in the chart below for the end of years 3, 4, and 5 are projected based on a conservative estimate.  The other two comparison brands are actual open location numbers for the first 5 years of franchising (data source:

Another great boutique fitness brand, Anytime Fitness, achieved 977 locations after just 7 years of franchising.¹

We believe firmly that we too can achieve and even go beyond what other great fitness brands have accomplished. 

In order for any winning program, whether it be a sports team, a business or a personal fitness program, to sustain performance at a high level it can never lose sight of what got it there.

For HOTWORX, our mission since the beginning, and in 2019, and for every year to come is to deliver great workouts in less time for our customers. 

With a maniacal focus on fast results and awesome training sessions for our customers we will ensure that of each of our franchise locations remain profitable.  This will allow for the brand to continue with explosive growth in pursuit of our goal to have 500 locations open in the first 5 years of franchise operations.

Back to those three words… dream, dedication and discipline…
