Well, we certainly see that phrase, “timing is everything”, used in almost every life endeavor from cooking to athletics and from comedy to rocket launches to political campaign launches. So whether you believe in the phrase or not, certainly we can all recognize that timing is involved in everything. Consider the quotes from these accomplished historical figures:

“You don't have to swing hard to hit a home run. If you got the timing, it'll go.”― Yogi Berra
“Life is about timing.”― Carl Lewis
In fitness, “timing is everything” for sure.
Consistency, repetition, and discipline are all measured by intervals of time. Heart rate, the most important fitness indicator, is a measurement number of beats within a specified time period. Proper timing is the key to success in fitness, as in life. Manifest your fitness destiny by taking control of your personal timing!

Definition of timing according to Webster’s:
1 a: placement or occurrence in time, the timing of the sale couldn't have been better
b: the ability to select the precise moment for doing something for optimum effect, a boxer with impeccable timing.
2: observation and recording (as by a stopwatch) of the elapsed time of an act, action, or process. ¹
Here is another way to define timing that might better illuminate the relevance of timing to fitness:
The regulation of occurrence, pace, or coordination to achieve a desired effect, as in music, the theater, or athletics. ²
We have recently launched a simple new tool for our members to use in our functional training area known as the FX Zone.
In addition to our silent trainer video we are installing an additional TV monitor that will display 24/7 a 30 second revolving interval timer to enable customers to practice functional interval training without having to look at their wrist watch. The FX Zone timer is a simple, highly visible tool to allow for rest and workout intervals in any combination of multiples of 30 seconds! This is yet another tool to increase the level of convenience and motivation for HOTWORX Studio members.
Of course, the HOTWORX Burn Off App is another “timing” tool, and is worthy of mentioning again. The app is used for calorie calculations during the time of the workout(s) and during the one hour after-burn. The 90 day challenge let’s our members see where they stack up against themselves and other members who are app users for calories burned, body weight and body fat% gains and losses. The app challenge automatically resets every 90 days to allow for constant measurement against that specific amount of time.
