As we enter into this holiday season, the spirit of giving back should be top of mind for all of us. For HOTWORX, we are supremely thankful to our men and women at arms who guard our freedom as a nation. This is why we have chosen to support veterans in any way that we can as a franchise organization. For three years, we raised money for veterans through a program we called Hiking for Heroes based on climbing a mountain and a dollar amount goal was set to the height of the summit. This involved a small team of climbers. While this program was successful, we thought that we could do more for our veterans, and further promote fitness if we involved all of our over 700 open franchise locations. Here’s how the new program works:
By purchasing a dedication HOTWORX logo ribbon to display in your local studio, you can honor a veteran hero who’s close to your heart while dedicating your HOTWORX workouts to them. The goal is to dedicate your next 5-6 weeks of workouts throughout the Christmas and New Year season in support of veterans! Each ribbon purchased by HOTWORX members will directly support a veteran family in need of transportation assistance. The contributions will help the HOTWORX franchise gift Jeeps to vets… one each to four deserving veteran families.
And, to make things interesting, I will send out a free signed copy of my book HOT EXERCISE, to the member with the highest calorie burn recorded in the Burn Off App at their studio during the dates of the Workouts for Heroes drive, one for each of the top 50 fundraising locations, and we will send out a beautiful logo trophy to the winner in an effort to tie this fundraiser to workout results. Support your veteran heroes and stay in shape over the holidays…a win win. Let’s EARN THE BURN, Y’all!!!
Every year a group of executives from corporate take off on a Jeep tour across the country to visit high impact HOTWORX locations and we stop for HOT EXERCISE book signing events on our way to the annual franchise convention. This year our Jeep trek will end in Denver for the convention at the Gaylord Rockies Resort. Obviously, we like Jeeps, and now we want to extend that affinity to deserving veterans with this new annual program.
Let’s raise money for vets and raise our level of fitness this holiday season too! There’s no better way to beat the holiday battle of over-indulgence than to join us by participating in the first annual WORKOUTS FOR HEROES drive to give Jeeps to deserving veterans!
Give back, and burn fat!!!
We are excited to launch Workouts for Heroes, formerly known as Hiking for Heroes, as a bold new HOTWORX led fundraiser in support of our Veterans. Running from early December through mid January, this campaign will focus on raising money to aid in the purchase of Jeeps for veteran families, who will be identified and selected through Sacred Mountain Retreat Center & The National Breast Cancer Foundation’s Women’s Military Patient Relief Fund.
In an effort to raise as much money as possible to support this new program for our veterans, we have created Dedication Logo Ribbons - a physical item that will be purchased by members at the studios. The members will then write the name of the veteran to whom they are dedicating their workouts to during the fundraising drive, and this ribbon will be displayed at the front of the studio.
There are 3 levels of ribbons which can be purchased: $1, $5, and $10. Should a member wish to contribute more, they can purchase multiple $10 ribbons. At the end of the drive, each studio will hold a raffle in coordination with these Dedication Ribbons. Every $1 spent = 1 raffle entry. The raffle prize will be decided at the discretion of the franchisee as they best know the studio members and what they will be excited to win!
