Save your joints! Extend the life of your body!
If your goal is, like most of us, to get in great shape and stay there, then you might want to consider getting there and staying there in a way that extends the life of your body, mainly your joints. You can do this through the use of low, or zero impact fitness routines. Without a doubt, you can achieve a very high level of intensity during a workout and never have to jump at all. If your workout is in an infrared environment, then your intensity will be even greater and you will get to a higher level faster due to the heat and infrared energy.
Jump training, also known as plyometrics, should remain in the realm of athletic competition training. Certainly, there are sports that require it, but it remains a very risky method of training, even for the professional athlete.
I recently hiked a 2700 foot vertical climb in two hours with two other people. It was a tremendous workout, perhaps one of the most difficult activities that I have ever done. I was in great shape for it, though, and without any impact training leading up to the climb. My lower body training consisted of zero impact infrared isometrics and very low impact infrared cycling at HOTWORX. One month after climbing the Gros Piton in St. Lucia, I snow skied in Aspen for three days with noticeable improvement in my skill and confidence on the mountain that I also attribute to zero impact infrared training.
Even in the world of professional football, you see athletes like Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers who are opting for lower impact off-season training such as yoga and suspension band workouts.
Add heat and infrared energy with a low or zero impact workout routine and you will experience fast and effective results, but with a much lower probability of injury and way less wear and tear on your joints and the rest of your body.
