SO the trek begins in a few hours. We leave our hotel which is literally down a dirt road in the middle of nowhere between the town of Moshi and the giant Mt. Kilimanjaro here in Tanzania. The hotel itself, Kilimanjaro Wonders Hotel, is pretty nice, though, and with excellent customer service.
Looks like I’ll have to improvise a bit since KLM Airlines lost my main duffle bag. At least I have my hiking boots!
All of the 3D Training at HOTWORX is about to be brought to bear and put to the test on the 5 day climb. The route we are set to take is the Marangu route which has a 27% summit success rate. We have a good team and we are ready and feel very honored to be a part of this Hike for Heroes.
I want to give a big shout to Jerrid Geving and Sacred Mountain Retreat Center working wonders in the Black Hills of South Dakota for wounded veterans and first responders! This is for you guys and the incredible work that you do.
There is still time to support this cause as we are raising funds based on each foot that we climb from sea level to the top. A dollar per foot to the top is our goal, and whatever amount we can raise, HOTWORX corporate will match that amount!!! Let’s all do what we can for those who have sacrificed so much in the name of freedom! Please click here: https://gofund.me/b250a78a
I’ll have a summit recap next week! 👊🔥
