As a former NPC National Collegiate Bodybuilding Champion, I can tell you that paying attention to every training routine detail makes the difference between winning and losing the title. Recently, I have have been listening to stories from athletes who have used HOTWORX infrared workouts to enhance their competition training routines. One such competitor is Lindsay Ruggles who is an executive at our corporate headquarters located on the Westbank of New Orleans. Take a moment to learn from her interview below:
Q-Why did you incorporate HOTWORX into your training routine?
A-At first I started it to increase flexibility, then I began to notice the recovery effects of the HOTWORX sessions. The low impact cardio was a plus, too. With my low carb diet regimen, high intensity dynamic movements become very difficult and can cause damage to my joints. As a child, I was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis which is a disease that affects the cells that produce mucus, sweat, and digestive fluid within the body. Cystic fibrosis can plug up tubes, ducts, and passageways that lead to your liver, lungs, and other digestive organs. The use of HOTWORX has reduced the mucus in my lungs from cystic fibrosis.
Q-Other than HOTWORX, what does your primary training routine consist of?
A-That consists of steady state interval fasted cardio 5 mornings per week. Then I have 3 days on weight training followed by one day off, then 2 days on weights, followed by one day off. Each week I follow all of my weight training workouts with cardio.
Q-Tell us about your training coach and what he likes about HOTWORX as a part of your routine, and how many times per week you do HOTWORX?
A-What my coach and I found most beneficial was the fact that I didn’t have to use any diuretics with the addition of HOTWORX into my training routine. I was able to drink more water…no dehydrating days leading up to my competition! My coach is conservative when it comes to the overuse of food and supplements. Use of HOTWORX alleviated the need for supplementation allowing my body to get where it needed to be on its own. I do HOTWORX about three times per week - two of which are my off days from the gym, where I strictly use it for recovery.
Q-Do you incorporate isometrics and HIIT? Which specific HOTWORX workouts do you utilize?
A-All isometric. Mostly I do Roll, Core and Warrior.
Q-What has been the results of your infrared workouts?
A-I have lost 20 pounds in 16 weeks and went from 4 visible abs to 8!
Q-For the average person’s fitness routine, how would you recommend the use of HOTWORX?
A-Stay in there! Stay the full 30 minutes. Acclimate to the heat. You will feel the detoxification and you will feel great afterward.
