Beware of False Infrared Prophets!

I am amused when I see certain so-called “infrared” fitness studios that claim to provide infrared fitness classes from live in-studio instructors. The reason I am amused is because they have gone to the trouble of opening an entire fitness studio based on a false assumption. The false assumption is that because the room is heated by an infrared based heater that the true infrared effects are being realized by the customer. The fact is that there are no infrared heaters that can safely provide the proper level of infrared energy to humans from a distance of more than about three feet. Therefore, the workout studio may get hot from an infrared heating system that blows hot air, but the beneficial infrared energy never reaches the clients due to how far the heaters are from the clients.Ignorance is bliss, so don’t be fooled.I was being given a tour of a day spa by one of the owners a couple of years ago and he was so proud to show me his new infrared hot yoga studio. He was excited, blissful even, to point out the infrared wall heaters that actually blew the heat out from the wall to heat the room. I didn’t want to rain on his infrared charade, so I kept quiet and just listened and looked. Of course, any infrared energy that was generated by the mere three heaters that were in that studio would never reach the clients. The Earth is perfectly radiated by the Sun from a position of 93,000,000 miles. Venus and Mercury are obviously more intensely irradiated than the Earth since they are closer to the Sun. The planets that are further away from the infrared radiation of the sun are much colder. The same logic applies to infrared heaters and workout studios.Word to the wise…The best proximity for humans to benefit from current infrared heater technology is from 1 to 3 feet. Therefore, the dimensions an infrared sauna enclosure is most suitable for infrared workouts, not a big room. The patent pending HOTWORX 63 square foot workout sauna was designed to provide the perfect infrared workout environment for 3 clients to enjoy maximum benefits.Steve
