Workout at Home During COVID-19 Crisis

Posted March 23, 2020

Working out is an essential component of living a healthy lifestyle.  Depending on where you live, chances are that your gym has now been required to close as the wave of coronavirus sweeps through your country.  There is no certainty as to when your gym or studio will reopen which adds to the anxiety.

As a fitness professional and former athlete, I can tell you with absolute certainty that you get a better workout when you train with other people, and an upbeat training facility helps to elevate your motivation.  This is not an option for a while though, and we must play the hand that we are dealt.

While it is not ideal, there are ways to get a really good workout from home. Gravity is the only workout tool that you need if you are forced to workout at home.  There are thousands of exercises that can work every body part with only a floor and maybe a wall.

HOTWORX, the 24 hour infrared fitness studio franchise chain, announced Friday and released to all of its active members a “HOTWORX at Home” version of four isometric workouts including yoga, Pilates, ISO and Warrior so that members can at least continue with training, albeit without the infrared heat, but at least with access to the workouts they have come to know and love.

Introducing HOTWORX AT HOME! For a limited time, All HOTWORX Members can access four isometric workouts in the HOTWORX Burn Off App on demand! Just open your HOTWORX app, then log out and back in, then select Virtual Personal Trainer on the drop down menu. Choose from Iso, Pilates, Warrior or Yoga. HOTWORX is here to help you stay positive and stay in shape! We hope you enjoy this free perk and our at home workouts through April!🔥

Yoga and other forms of isometrics are perfect for training at home when you need to keep up tone and flexibility.  If you are looking for more of a resistance type of workout with low to zero impact, try a bands routine.

Working out at home might not be the same as a high energy studio or gym, but you can at least maintain your physical condition while riding out the quarantine through the use of mere gravity and virtual instruction.

Don’t let this quarantine beat you up!  Stay positive.

Take control of the situation and find ways to maintain your fitness.  You will need to reach within for the motivation to workout at home during this time.  Call out to your inner warrior. You can do it, and soon enough you will be back in your favorite gym enjoying the powerful workouts and uplifting environments.
