HOTWORX welcomes new franchisees, Ron & Kirstie Lugo, with the purchase of a franchise license in Atlanta, Georgia!

What lead you to explore franchise opportunities?
We’ve always wanted to start a business but like most careers, kids and life got in the way. Now that the kids are a little older and we’re a bit wiser, we figured now is the time. We both have a passion for fitness so we immediately knew we wanted to do something within that industry. Kirstie is an Occupational Therapist by trade and also a competitive natural bodybuilder. I’m an executive in the corporate world and ready to take what I know about running big businesses into the small business world. We both couldn’t be more excited to start this new journey with HOTWORX.

Can you describe your first HOTWORX experience?
Ron: My first HOTWORX session was the morning of our Discovery Day. Nancy Price was very gracious to give us access to her Marrero location. Nancy and Kirstie were both questioning whether I could do the Hot Warrior session…so I stepped up to the challenge. Later in the day during discovery when they were talking about sauna temperatures, I realized that my wife tried to be cute earlier by setting my sauna at 134 degrees. Anyway, my Hot Warrior workout was amazing, so amazing that I went back for another session of Hot Row with Kirstie. I can tell you that I felt great all day, high energy…I also have a troublesome shoulder from an old surgery and my shoulder felt awesome!

Kirstie: My First HOTWORX session was Hot Yoga. Before I came to the studio I was sore and tight from all my heavy weight lifting . I thought the HOT yoga would be a great addition/RECOVERY to loosen up and stretch out my sore muscles, something I was guilty of neglecting due to limited time constraints. The HOTWORX Hot Yoga session was JUST WHAT I NEEDED!!!! I was drenched in sweat, I had a full body stretch and I LOVED the fact it was ONLY 30 minutes!!! Following my session I felt GREAT! My muscles had loosened up, I had decreased soreness and I felt ENERGETIC. I initially was sold on the concept of HOTWORX. It made total sense & I thought the concept was brilliant! Experiencing it first-hand just confirmed it!!!! HOTWORX is truly a GEM & I cant wait to share it with our community. It’s gonna be HOT!!!

What was it like attending Discovery Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
GREAT! We were fortunate to have worked through our entire Discovery Process with Nancy Price. Nancy made everything easy and natural from the start and we knew the minute she picked us up at the airport it was going to be a great Discovery Day. As for the Discovery Process, it helped close off a few gaps here and there but honestly Nancy did a great job providing us with all the information, answering our questions and getting us ready.

Our experience was amazing. Believe it or not, it was our first time in New Orleans and the whole town is super friendly and laid back. When we arrived at headquarters we got to meet Steve and his little girl…so cool. Everyone at HQ was great and the information was spot on. Honestly, the organization that Steve has built is phenomenal. To have so many folks work for Planet Beach and HOTWORX for so long is a real testament of a great culture, leader and product…we’re excited to be a part of the family!

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
Make sure it’s something you are ready to commit to, you must have passion for the services & products, finances are in order and then get er done!! HOTWORX is a great brand and even better solution/product. The business model is solid and the support from corporate (from what we’ve experienced) is world class.

3. Steve Smith and his team’s prior success with Planet Beach…we knew we were getting a bunch of veterans that have been there and done that. We wanted to be a part of Steve’s 2nd fitness/health industry success story.

What goals do you have in bringing HOTWORX to your market?
-We want to positively represent HOTWORX and continue to bring brand awareness to the Atlanta area.
-Our first goal, since this our first franchise, is to get one and done…but we don’t want to stop there, we want to hit 500 members in Pre-sale. Like Nancy told us, Pre-sale is the only time you can be nearly 100% focused on pure sales…we plan on taking advantage of it!!
-We want to be one of the most successful franchises in the HOTWORX portfolio.
-We want to be successful multi-unit franchisees!

What are you most excited for in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
We’re not going to lie, Kirstie and I are both excited for the 2019 HOTWORX & Planet Beach Convention!!
