Provide a New, Innovative Concept

HOTWORX welcomes new franchisees, Michael and Mark Kaufman, with the purchase of 3 franchise licenses in Phoenix, Arizona!

What led you to explore franchise opportunities?

I currently work in the corporate world, but have also worked for a start up. I am an entrepreneur and have always envisioned owning my own business. Additionally, Mark and I have been interested in working on a business together. As I explored franchise opportunities, HOTWORX stuck out due to its innovative concept that was still a newer brand that would allow us to introduce it to our market.

Can you describe your first HOTWORX experience?

My first HOTWORX session took place during the winter of 2018. I took Hot Yoga and really enjoyed the experience. It was cold outside and I liked how quickly my body warmed up and allowed me to reach a full range of motion much quicker than normal. I took the session with my wife and also really liked the virtual instructor led approach that allowed me to push myself to complete each pose while not feeling intimidated in a larger, instructor led group setting. The length was great and most importantly, I felt great afterwards.

How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?

This process was well structured and informative. While we most likely asked more questions than most others through the process, Nancy was patient and helpful in providing our requested information. When we arrived at Orientation Day, I felt as if we knew all that we could with the exception of meeting the team in person.

What was it like attending Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?

I thought Orientation Day was a great experience. Nancy was very helpful during the process, but the opportunity to meet her in person as well as the rest of the team helped solidify our decision to become franchisees. While most of the interaction with the Executive Team moving forward will be virtual, I always feel I work best with people I have had the chance to meet in person.

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?

I feel like I will be better able to answer this question a year from now after we have a little more experience with our franchise. That said, I would advise them to speak to as many existing franchisees as possible. We did this and understand there are challenges with all businesses, but in our experience speaking with the existing franchisees, everyone was still happy with the concept and future potential to grow their existing and future locations.

What are the top 3 reasons you chose to franchise with HOTWORX?

We liked the innovative concept, the opportunity to be in the fitness space where we felt like we would be helping people and could feel good about the business we were in and we liked that the brand was still newer which we feel meant a little more risk, but also the opportunity to introduce it into the Arizona market.

What goals do you have in bringing HOTWORX to your market?

The Arizona fitness market is a crowded space, but our goal is to introduce this new concept to a fitness minded crowd and establish the brand. We feel there is a great opportunity to provide a new, innovative concept that can provide a primary or complementary fitness option.

What are you most excited for in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?

I am most excited for the opportunity to start operating my own business and the challenge of finding and retaining as many members as we can.
