Joe Elmer graduated with a BS in Physical Therapy from the University of New England, where he also played basketball on scholarship for all four years. He’s spent the last 23 years as a practicing Physical Therapist and holds numerous post-grad certifications in manual physical therapy, including the completion of an orthopedic manual physical therapy residency and fellowship. Elmer is currently a fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy, a national organization committed to excellence in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy practice, education, and research. He previously owned Tupelo Physical Therapy from 2001 to 2012 and currently owns the Recovery & Wellness Spa in Tupelo, MS.With the HOTWORX franchise opportunity, Joe Elmer discovered a perfect mixture of his lifelong passions for both science and business. He was looking for something new and unique to add to his spa and admitted he was sold the minute he walked into the original HOTWORX studio location in Oxford, MS. Elmer recalls being very impressed by his first HOTWORX session. He realized that this patent-pending infrared workout sauna not only produced maximum benefits, but also allows beginners to workout side-by-side with someone at the most advanced fitness level without any feeling of intimidation. The physical therapist remembered his thoughts immediately following that very first HOTWORX session saying, “My head was filled with the endless possibilities of how this sauna could be used.”It’s quite clear that Elmer enjoys business and the challenge of successfully growing a business.
